Artist’s statement

Pru Robbie

The wairua of is what gives us the strength and compassion to overcome the adversities that are thrown at us, whether we live in the mountains or the plains, by the rivers or by the sea, in the north or the south.

We are able to prevail because of our common humanity, our making us resilient, enduring and life giving.

No matter how long ago our ancestors arrived in this land or where they came from, we are all women of Aotearoa.

Whatever we look like, as we age our hair becomes grey.
