Whoosh, gust, swirl, float and more! At Air Playground, curious kids and families have fun with air - an invisible elemental force.
Let science blow you away!
Students will step into a world of fun and discovery to explore the science of aerodynamics through experimental play: float objects in mid-air, release material in a fast-flowing airstream and launch their own paper plane design.
Developed by a team of science experts from Museums Victoria, this exhibition is jam-packed with hands-on interactive experiences.

We’re offering a free preview visit for kaiako who book our “Amazing Air” education programme in Term 4.
Education programmes
Half-day
2 hour programme. Up to 60 students.
Students will take a short, guided tour of Air Playground and break into small group to explore the exhibition. This will be followed by an hour of self-guided discovery time in Exscite.
$9 per student.
Full day
3 hour programme. Up to 90 students.
Our educators will lead a session to help students explore and unpack the concepts behind Air Playground. They will then break into small groups to explore the exhibition. This will be followed by an hour of self-guided discovery time in Exscite.
For larger groups who wish to spend a full day, sessions can be rotated as three one-hour activities with groups swapping between sessions with museum educators, Air Playground, and Exscite.
$15 per student.
