In-gallery programme
The educator-led time will take tamariki on a tour of the museum galleries and share some of the wonderful stories that inspire the exhibitions or objects.
Students will hear about the Tongue of the Dog, the story of Te Winika and explore different art forms, all the while engaging in activities and discussion to develop their understanding of storytelling and cultural narratives.
Single class
2 hour programme. Up to 30 students.
Length of sessions can be tailored depending on age of students.
One hour with an educator in the galleries, and one hour with an educator doing a second activity programme of your choosing (or an arts response session), with time to explore the wider museum with our Eye Spy activity.
Larger groups
2 hour programme. Up to 60 students.
Option 1: One hour with an educator in the galleries, and one hour of self-led time (in small, supervised groups) exploring the wider museum with our Eye Spy activity and suggestion cards for adults to engage with students.
Option 2: One hour with an educator in the galleries, and one hour of self-led time in Exscite for play and exploration.
