Te Whare Taonga o Waikato Museum & Gallery is dedicated to preserving the rich heritage of our region and tangata whenua connected to the Tainui Waka.

Located in the heart of Hamilton city on the banks of the Waikato awa, we are a community facility managed by Hamilton City Council.

You can explore thought-provoking art exhibitions, learn more about social history, connect with te ao Maaori, and get hands-on with science in Exscite our interactive gallery for children.

Te Whare Taonga o Waikato Museum & Gallery is open every day (except 25 December) and entry is free.
