In this Meaning talk, stories, discussion, voice , they will share the ideas, stories, and cultural knowledge that shaped the work, offering a rare chance to hear directly from the artists behind this significant Meaning Treasure, anything prized .
This will cover some of the Tainui koorero represented in the artworks, delving into the history of the Rototuna whenua where the taonga now sits.

Te Ohomauri O Matariki
The Awakening Lifeforce of Matariki
Te Ohomauri o Matariki (The Awakening Lifeforce of Matariki) was created by Dion Hitchens in collaboration with James Ormsby. The work was named by Hare Puke JP (Ngaati Wairere, Ngāti Kōura, Ngāti Mahuta) in consultation with Nga Mana Toopu o Kirikiriroa.
Commissioned by Hamilton City Council, the artwork was unveiled on 24 February 2011.
